DOMAIN OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

According to AECT of 1977 educational technology is a complex,
integrated process involving people, procedures, ideas, devices and
organization for analyzing problems and devising, implementing, evaluating and
managing solutions to those problems involved in all aspects of human learning.
Learning resources are
all of the resources (data, people, and things) which may be used by the
learner in isolation or in combination, usually in an informal manner, to
facilitate learning; they include Messages, People, Materials, Device,
Techniques and Settings.
Educational /Instructional Development Functions are functions which have as their purpose analyzing problems, and
devising, implementing, and evaluating the Learning Resources/Instructional
System Components solutions to the problems.
This domain includes research theory, design, production,
evaluation-selection, logistics, utilization, and utilization-dissemination.
Educational/Instructional Management Functions are functions which have as their purpose the directing or
controlling of one or more of the Educational/Instructional Development
Functions or of other Educational/Instructional management functions to ensure
their effective operation. It involves organization management and personnel
management.
